Solution:-

X:Y= 4:1
If in 1 day X completes 4 units and Y completes 1 unit
in 1 day X+Y =4+1=5 units
in 16 days X+Y= 16*5 = 80 units of work

in 1 day Y Completes 1 unit 
half work (50% ) of 80 units is 40 units
in 1 day Y completes =1 unit
to complete 40 units Y need 40 days

Ans: b) 40 days
